Discover Africa 4×4 provides long-term 4×4 vehicle sales and documentation for independent travellers in Africa for a fixed purchase price of €8,000, shifting complete operational and financial responsibility to the buyer once the vehicle is handed over. The service requires a minimum three-month travel plan and includes a comprehensive 150-point mechanical inspection alongside a DEKRA roadworthy certification before collection, though all subsequent maintenance, breakdowns, and upgrades remain the client’s sole responsibility.
Core Service: The company sells the vehicle and handles the paperwork. They do not provide guides, itineraries, roadside assistance, or breakdown support.
Insurance: Included in the price is fully comprehensive insurance for South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini
Duration Target: Vehicles are intended for travellers planning trips lasting a minimum of three months.
Airport Pickup: Optional transport from the airport or Cape Town city centre to our premises is available for ZAR 700 cash.
Pre-Travel Inspection: Every vehicle undergoes a DEKRA roadworthy inspection and a 150-point mechanical check by internal mechanics before handover.
Upgrades & Extras: Any extra equipment, modifications, new tyres, or cosmetic changes requested by the buyer are completely at their own expense.
Client Responsibilities: From the moment of collection, the vehicle belongs to the buyer. The buyer assumes all risks and decisions regarding routes and safety.
Maintenance & Repairs: The buyer pays for all ongoing costs. This includes servicing, tyres, batteries, unexpected breakdowns, and general wear-and-tear.
Camping Gear: Optional items like tents, fridges, and cookers are recorded at the start and must be looked after. Damage to this gear results in extra charges.
Costs: Purchase of car is 8000 euros at the end of the trip from this is taken 1050 euros for each month of buyback, dekra check ZAR900, cleaning ZAR1000 and any repairs from Dekra and 150 point check.
